My Mum has always been highly regarded when it comes to her cooking (she was the head chef for the Lord and Lady of St. Michael's Mount Castle at one point! ) and this meant her home cooking was generally a perfection of standard recipes mixed in with some interesting additions on occasion. My favourites were the 'home standards' such as scalloped potatoes, smoked fish pie and curried sausages. Still, nothing topped her macaroni cheese. I could eat buckets of the stuff. I have the recipe at home somewhere, maybe I'll see if I can dig it up. I could never get it right no matter how hard I tried, though, and her preferred cheeses she uses aren't avialable in the UK.

Dad, on the other hand, clearly had an education in BBQ with a masters in marinate.
