Poor old Wesley Crusher, even Wil Wheaton doesn't much like him.
Sorry, I left off the original series in my list as my knowledge of it is very patchy so I can't comment on it.
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
Star Trek is great. Pretty much all of TNG is great, as is most of DS9 and even some of TOS (if only for the Kirk/Bones/Spock dynamic, the ridiculous campiness, and the occasional moment of a young George Takei going nuts). The movies for the most part may be underwhelming or bad for newer viewers unfamiliar with the series. You probably want to stick to Wrath of Khan and First Contact for starters; those are widely considered the best of the old movies, so you shouldn't move on to the others unless you first enjoy those.
The middle seasons of TNG were my favorite, IIRC, so enjoy. When you're through, I'm sure you'll be yet another unanimous vote in favor of Picard as the best Trek captain.
I've only ever bothered with TNG, although I've probably watched it all through a few times. I say "all"; I always skip the early episodes when Riker doesn't have a beard. From Season 3 onwards it improves massively.
Small-time, I've started rewatching ALL of Trek because of this thread.
God the very first episode of TOS is amazing.
Went to see this yesterday. It was pretty good. Didn't really make me think of Star Trek though, except for using the same names. But what do I know, I'm just a Star Trek noob .
I think they should have had George Takei dubbed over the Sulu (or whatever his name was) character.
Actually he should have dubbed over all of the characters.
You definitely need to watch more Trek, shion! The new movie was full of references and throw-backs to older ones. I was smiling at some reference or homage every couple of minutes. Good ol' Sulu, don't worry bro, you'll be the captain someday
The good TOS episodes remind me of B&W Twilight Zone episodes.
TNG is the best.
DS9 is good but the best story arcs involve maaaany episodes which was a pain back when they were originally televised.
Somebody come talk about Star Trek: TOS with me
I just watched "The Naked Time" and it's fantastic. What a great episode. What a great show.
Shirtless Sulu wandering the decks with a fencing foil? Nothing to complain about there.
