Technically, if you couldn't vote for your own team, everyone in the other parties could not vote, your entire team could vote, and then nobody would vote for your party... which means that every other party would go through but yours. I think it's good to reward participation with votes for your own gang. =] For me, I think people have worked hard and deserve to support the people who have worked for each other.
