I keep missing out on a lot of things lately because my housemate has done something on the home network which means that anytime he's watching youtube or... other video entertainment sources... my internet crawls to a complete halt and resetting the router and all that good stuff doesn't fix it.

(which considering we have a 150mbps connection is a pretty frakking impressive accomplishment)

My dad was just able to get DSL from dial up last year We have the option of cable here at my moms but my step dad is stubborn and doesn't want to switch.
