Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III are not PS4 exclusives #E32013

Square Enix have announced that both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III will be coming to the XBOX ONE as well as Playstation 4. At their pre-E3 "The Futue of Final Fantasy" conference these details were dropped with Hashimoto confirming that the agreement that prevented them releasing Kingdom Hearts on the XBOX in Japan has now expired.

The conference also revealed a few more details about both games and you can expect more details from us shortly once the Q&A portion draws to a close.

They're giving no comment on that one yet. I think they might be considering it or negotiating with Nintendo. I think it's entirely possible, though, thanks to the DirectX11 engine they keep mentioning.

I'm not surprised. I'm sure some releases that were assumed to be XB1 exclusive will prove to be a PS4 release also.

I got the impression Titan Fall fell into that category, to name one.

Considering the similar architecture, this is probably a much less daunting task than previous generations. Otherwise I'm sure it would have been a PS4 exclusive. As far as I know these kinds of things never sold well on the 360. So the costs of conversion were rarely worth it. But now they'll basically just be putting it in a different colored box and throwing it at a different console. Widens the profit margin, but I don't think it will affect anything. Most people will still probably be getting it on PS4. So it might as well be an exclusive. But whatever I guess. As long as SE makes a real game out of this one instead of just a sci-fi hallway simulator, I won't have much to complain about

The system probably can't handle the graphical output, and SE isn't known for doing multiple versions on initial releases. They will always port to a more powerful system, aka ff3 to ds, then iphone and PSP, but they don't port to weaker systems. This next gen will have graphics rivaling prerendered cutscenes of the last two gens, and WiiU just can't handle it.
