New Arcanist and Jobs Video for Final Fantasy XIV - #E32013

Square-Enix has released a video at E3 featuring the new class and jobs for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. These are the already-known Arcanist class, plus the jobs of Scholar and Summoner. Check it out!

The video doesn’t really reveal anything, but it will surely get people excited over finally being able to play an Arcanist, which will likely be one of the most popular new classes once FFXIV is released, at least for experienced players from 1.0 looking for something new.

For those of you eagerly anticipating ARR’s release: is there an Arcanist in your future? What do you think of the new jobs?

There was more information revealed at the Live Letter, so expect a more comprehensive update later. I figured this could be a thread devoted to discussion of the Arcanist and the new jobs.

The most important thing to know is that scholar is a healer. Whereas arcanist/summoner is a specialist for pets and damage over time spells, scholar is a healer with the fairy pet displayed in the video with a focus on full-party healing over time spells. SCH + WHM is going to be a very, very effective combination.
