Yeah, for a second there I was like "what the hell are you talking about there's no e in judgement?"

"Separate" used to give me some trouble. And I thought people only misspelled "definitely" as "definately."

Words that still give me problems no matter how many times I've used them: "bourgeoisie" and "bureaucracy."

I've actually never had problems with those because they're both very French to me. Bureaucracy for example has the word bureau right in it, which means desk, and just add a cracy at the end

Semi-related: there are lots of words that I know the meaning of and how to spell correctly, but that I have no idea how to pronounce because I only ever encounter them in text.

Annihilation. That's the correct spelling. I will kill it. I will -annihilate- it.
Some words become surprisingly easy once you identify their roots. For example, nihil means "nothing." Thus, annihilate means to turn something into nothing and annihilation is the process by which something is turned into nothing.

This happened to me a lot growing up, because most of my vocabulary was from reading. For example, when I was in middle school, I pronounced "epitome" as "ep-ih-tome" and "facade" was "fah-cade." Most of them have been corrected over the years.

I am pretty bad at spelling, but when I was younger I couldn't ever spell the word "Great". It is like most things where you say the words enough that they don't sound like words anymore. Was like that.

The pronunciation of "Variety" though killed me. I gave it a double "R" when saying it, so it sounded like "Var-ri-ety". My dad always made fun of me for it,
