As for this game, how long will it last depends on the activity. If the activity stops, the game may as well end there.
Edit: Though, I think I might play this similarly to Risk once all the territories have been set. I don't know how many I'm expecting, so I guess we'll have to see what direction this game goes, if you can call it a game. It's more like an interactive project to me than a game.
