FFXIV:ARR / LR:FFXIII Cross-Over Bonanza!

It seems Lightning really loves dressing up! We recently revealed that as part of the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII pre-order campaign you can receive a DLC code to give her a Cloud Strife outfit. Not only that, but if you purchase the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster you can also earn a Summoner Yuna outfit too. This is on top of the plethora of other outfits she already has. But as every girl knows, you can never have too many outfits!

As a special cross-over between Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and the imminent Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn you can net a very adorable Miqo'te outfit for Lightning that resembles the female Miqo'te starting attire. Not only that, it comes complete with kitty ears and a tail!

However, it seems that the developers aren't just happy with giving Lightning Returns all the love. Lightning will actually be appearing in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! The details on this still aren't confirmed yet as they were revealed during a Final Fantasy conference at the Japan Expo in France today. However, early translations suggest that there will be some special quest lines featuring Lightning in A Realm Reborn - quite how this works into the game itself is unknown at this point.

But wait... there's more! You'll also be able to get Lightning outfits for your female A Realm Reborn characters and Snow outfits for Male characters. There's even special weapons based off the weapons we've seen so far in Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2 such as Serah's Bow and Mog's clock staff.

Yoshi P, the producer of A Realm Reborn, also treated attendes to the unveiling of A Tour of Eorzea: Part 3 and you can expect to hear more from us on that shortly.

The good thing is you could just say it was just a time paradox that transported Lightning to the realm of XIV.
