anyone else remember when your custom rank was tied to your post count and you could only customize it once you were up above some number of posts? i think avatar was tied to postcount too but i'm not sure on that (but it's why mr. towns has "Newbie" and that chocobo forever and always)

I used to post at roughly the 12~15 posts per day range, and then spent four years maybe making two or three posts a week, so I definitely killed the momentum I had. I'd probably have something near 35~40k myself if not for that.

I love how you guys all think that the person with more posts than anyone doesn't like encouraging people to post faster. It's really cute. <3 You guys should have seen me back in 2000, it was a game of mine to try and get the last post in every single forum, and in every single thread in General Chat's first page. I did it sometimes, too. Clever timing is essential, and I'm not sure it could be done so easily these days, but it's obviously possible.
