I still need to see the original. I've wondered what the hype was all about, but I guess curiosity has not tempted me enough to see for myself...yet.

I didn't realize this movie was coming out so soon! I liked the first movie as much as I liked the book (both were decent), but the trailer for the second looks like they're trying to make it more intense than the book, which is exciting. Hopefully they'll do the same for the third movie too, since the third book was pretty slow.
I think the casting overall is pretty perfect. I'm bothered by the white washing, but I can't deny Jennifer Lawrence did a good job. And I already kind of pictured Peeta s a footface.
The whitewashing outrage also reminds me of how many idiots were outraged that Rue was black. So many people on Twitter all up-in-arms because apparently they thought "dark skin" meant tan.
I haven't read any of the Hunger Game books. My wife gave away the plot to them all when she was reading them because I wasn't terribly interested at all.
This comment really has no value to any conversation at hand.
<PaperStar> live fast, die young, bad plefs do it well
I was just abt to post that! Lol I caught it earlier!
I'll wait awhile and then download it. Mwahaahaha
I'm not rly a fan of J.Law tho...
Ha, I came here to post the Sesame Street thing. So good.
Hollywood re-casting other ethnicities to be white people is a problem, yes.
Look at the movie 21. That was based on a true story. They cast these people to play real people, but most of these Asian people were played by white people. Look at it and tell me that's not smurfed up!
I think Shaibana was saying that she doesn't understand why people are getting so fussed about Rue being black, because it shouldn't matter if one of the most popular characters from a story is black, as long as it's a good character. At least, that's what I think she was saying!I remember being surprised at the casting as well, because I thought Rue was supposed to be of Hispanic-descent as well as a lot of others, but the little girl who played her was just OMG SO ADORABLE. Like, omg, I loved her to bits. I bawled like a little baby when she died; she was a great actress in all of her scenes.
AND YES THAT SESAME STREET IS JUST WONDERFUL
A great joke oppotunity was missed right here.
Proud to be the Unofficial Secret Illegal Enforcer of Eyes on Final Fantasy!
When I grow up, I want to go toBovineTrump University! - Ralph Wiggum
ooh well thank you ^^
i did not meen any offense against any cast member, no :P
But ppl can be so hyped about little details.
in the link-example (movie 21) i can understand.. they made half the asian cast 'western', thats not right xD
But in the hunger games it is 1 girl that is a view tans darker.
just shut up and enjoy the movie!! haha xD
otherwise then that the movie has lived up too the books (i think)
I pegged Rue to be like hispanic or indian or something, but I couldn't care less that she's black. The girl that played her was little Zoe Saldana in Colombiana.
I cried more watching the little fanmade video of that scene with Danielle Chuchran and some white girl. It was done so much better than the actual movie even though the girl is white.
It's bloody
