Maybe someone should create a "sig making tips" thread in the art forum? Not a photoshop tutorial, but maybe just a list of links to free photo editing software, a reminder of the sig and avatar requirements and a couple of general hints about making things look nice? It doesn't take long to google an image or wallpaper or some stock gradients and pull them together.
