I was much younger when I tried to watch it and couldn't get into it. Maybe I'd like it more now. I added a ton of anime to the list that I watched and remembered from my early college/high school days before this site existed. I was a nerd and kept a list of my own.

I dabbled lightly in anime until I was 15 and we got extended cable. I was able to watch a huge array of anime for free and I became more or less addicted ever since. I only watch what I can. I don't go out of my way. I pick up cheap dvd from thrifts and I read obsessively about the anime I'm missing 'cause I can't afford it at the moment.
CB is okay. I wouldn't exaggerate it's value to such an extent though. What the hell is Monster?The only Anime you really need to see is Cowboy Bebop because it is one of the most glorious pieces of any kind of cinema ever made.
Monster and Paranoia Agent also kick ass.
As a general rule of thumb, I tend to label any bishoujo anime as being dumb from the get-go. Bishoujo tend to focus on the relationships between girls and their guys. It's pretty rare for a bishoujo not to feature this plotline. InuYasha qualifies because despite its title, most of the focus is on Kagome's relationship with the title character. So I enter into it not expecting much. The characters I appreciate the most from the series are as follow: ...pretty much everyone except Kagome and Inuyasha. I wrote and deleted a fanfiction about a grown-up Shippo shipped with a grown-up Thunder Sister Soten (from Episode 68).

Highschool of the Dead is a great series. I love Death Note. Samurai Champloo rocks. Code Geass was surprisingly amazing. Cowboy Bebop is recommended * n even though I haven't even finished it yet.
