(and this is an old image)
Football Manager is the worst offender for me. I once spent every available moment playing Football Manager for two weeks. Civ is definitely one of the worst, though. It probably was the worst until I started playing FM.

FF7 through to FF10-2. Also on the old systems, after the first time I beat Sonic, I had to beat it or lose all of my lives/continues from there on out. I was like this while my girlfriend was in the room with me and she was trying to sleep. I was like this when I visited with her and her father up in Canada (Fable II). I was like this recently with a couple of browser games distracting me from my college work (Sword Quest, Marvel Ultimate Alliance... and Wartune). I've been gradually weaning myself off of games entirely. These days I rarely go back to Sword Quest. One weekend a month, I'll play Star Wars Battlefront II with my dad (I still wish for Squix to put out a FFBattlefront, it's the only way I would be able to get my dad to play Final Fantasy; he doesn't understand RPGs). I haven't played a console game on my own for about eight months. I recently beat two DS games (Re:coded and New Super Mario Bros) and haven't had a reason to go back. Right now, my biggest addiction/distraction are forums, online comics, webseries, and deviantart. Also trying to get one of my stories finished.

By the way, this thread would be more appropriately titled "This is how addicting games are"
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

This was me with Morrowind earlier this year. I think I topped out at about 55 hours of that game a week and it would've been much more if I didn't have to work

I think when FF7 came out on Steam I clocked in at about 8 hours per day for the following week.

    And I'm still playing it.
