I've played all three of them NCG. Odin Sphere and Agarest are leagues above HyperDimension, which is mostly aimed and a really, really small audience, and anyone outside of said audience will probably never enjoy it.

The first two are among my favorite games of all time, though Agarest War isn't really a game with a wide appeal.

As a quick side note, who has played Record of Agarest War, Odin Sphere, and/or Hyper Dimension Neptunia? I kind of want to play them now.

Odin Sphere is one of the best sidescrolling games I've ever played. It's absolutely worth checking out. I don't know a single person who has played it and not liked it.

I still haven't played Agarest either.

Hyperdimension is, just like Neo said, for a pretty narrow audience. I think you could possibly fall into that group, but it's hard to say for certain. It has fanservice, silly game references and some funny jokes. Not a game that should be played for its deep story or whatever, and the gameplay is alright but not great.
