I really really like Twiddle, that was super catchy and awesome. Any idea where I can buy an album?

Here are some Brisbane based bands I really enjoy.

7-Bit Hero have an obviously video game inspired feel, and use chiptunes in their work. Pretty new and I hope to see more from them in the future 'cause holy trout they're catchy and have some great interactive concert ideas going.

Ball Park Music are a pretty big band now, relatively speaking, and have two albums out with a third on the way. I know a couple of EoFFers have listened to them before but yeah I saw the keyboardist at the bank the other day so they're pretty smurfing local to me xD

And if you like a little bit of, I dunno, jazz folk sort of stuff, Rivermouth is a band one of my mates is in. They released their first album earlier this year and have a very very Australian tinge to the lyrics, but I dunno it's just something about the style that I love.

There are a bunch of other local bands I wanna share but I gotta keep it small for now

They see me rolling. They hating, patrolling.
Trying to catch me riding dirty.

    Dancing Chocobo

Die! Die! Die! - Shyness Will Get You Nowhere

One of my favourite songs, filmed in locations I used to hang out a lot. Alt garage rock.

    Opossom - Getaway Tonight

Psychedelic experimental adventures from Bic & Kody, good stuff.

The Gladeyes - Bad Town Blues

You could file it under alternative, twee, kinderpop or just plain awesome.

I'll wait to post local American stuff.

I know of no local Coeur d'Alene/Spokane music, so I'm sticking with Utah and cheating with The Used, because they aren't exclusively local anymore.

    - The Used - Blue and Yellow. This song was written about my high school. Our colors were blue and yellow (gold, really).
    - The Used - The Taste of Ink. This song was written on the mountain at my end of the valley that would let you look out over the entire southern part of the valley. It was especially beautiful at night when everything was lit up, which is essentially one of the lines in the song.

Neon Trees - These guys are from my birth town! They're getting decently well-known and have had some songs on top billboards and such. They're a bit poppy, but so catchy. And female drummer? Total badass.
    - Neon Trees - Animal. Super damn catchy and will be in my head for days now.
    - Neon Trees - Everybody Talks. And I just love this song. It's a bit poppy, but again, the chorus is so damn catchy.

The Brobecks - I'm fairly certain that these guys are exclusively local. I first heard them mentioned on my radio show I still listen to even after having moved out of state. Some of their songs almost have a cabaret-y sort of sound, but some of them lean more toward indie. I like them quite a bit and I find the singer's range pretty impressive. (edit: I guess the singer for this band is the bassist for Panic! at the Disco! I had no idea.)
    - The Brobecks - Love at First Sight
    - The Brobecks - Goodnight, Socialite
    - The Brobecks - Small Cuts (cabaret-ish example)

Bertie, I'm liking Twiddle! Between the lovely piano and the beat, this is good stuff.
Dakoda, I so badly wanted to like the 7Bit stuff, but the video detracted from the experience because the lyrics are silly and it looks like one giant Apple ad. But I like the beat!
Nicky, A+ for The Gladeyes! It makes me think of Best Coast, for some reason. California surf rock or something. I like it!

Their first album is great. The following albums are not so much.

Microphonic, a light rock band from my very own town and probably my favorite band ever, not just local c:

You guys made me all sad now because I remembered they're sort of breaking up to split off to college and none of their really really good songs are on the internet and I can only hear them by going to their shows but what if they don't have any more shows I will literally never hear them again.

Grown Up Aventer Stuff. They're actually from North Carolina but they swung by before going to SXSW and I was all like "oh hey I'm gonna go see Microphonic. Grown Up Avenger Stuff is playing too, who's that?" And then they showed me who's that and I was like whoa.
