Is it (going to be) available on consoles? Which ones? Will the console crowd be able to mingle with the PC crowd?

It will also (eventually) be released on PS4. I would suggest ensuring you have a USB keyboard if you go down the console road, because otherwise the social aspect - arguably the most important part of an MMO - would be a struggle.

It got released for the PS3 as well as the PC, though there is a PS4 version in the works as well as a DirextX 11 support for PC users in the works.

It got released on the PS3 but Square are handing out refunds for digitally purchased copies of the game due to the new user registration restrictions meaning that people aren't getting on. I dunno much about when they're letting new people in..
