Default FFIV: The After Years to get a DS-style 3DS Remake

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years Is Getting A Final Fantasy IV DS Style 3D Remake - Siliconera

Should I expect a 3DS version of the Square Enix Tax, as in US$49.99?
Hisui & Kohaku: I play as them in Melty Blood.

That is going to be a very hard sale when you can get all three games for $20 on psp.
And yeah, probably $45 after tax.

Weird... I thought they'd keep the FFIV DS remake and all other FFIV releases (SNES, PS, GBA, After Years, PSP Complete) in separate veins, especially since the GBA, After Years, and PSP versions feature character switching and FFIV DS got rid of it and both had rather different game engines. I wonder if FFIV:TAY DS will have Augments or not. I hope the difficulty won't be as ridiculous as FFIV DS'.

Either way, I'll admit they're going too far with the FFIV favouritism (even if it is my #1 favourite FF), but since FFIV is really popular and successful in Japan, I suppose it makes sense. I mean, they did the same for the FFVII Compilation and FFX (with X-2 and the HD remakes) and those three FFs were the highest rated FFs by Famitsu in Japan.

The difficulty of FF4 DS was one of my favorite features.

This almost seems like a move specifically marketed to me. I loved FF4: DS, I don't own a Wii and despise the art style of the PSP remakes so I will never played it.

EDIT: Scratch that, it is coming out for mobile phones.

As compared to what? Though there are certainly harder games out there, I would say it is certainly above standard FF fare.

As compared to the PSP version, the only other version I've played.

This comes across as pure greed on Square's part. This game is already coming to iOS, and is available on the psp and Wii. I thought a major appeal of the after years was its 16 bit graphical style? Even so, if you don't own the After Years, then a purchase would make sense.
