I bought it the day it was on the shelves here, played through two chapters so far, it's back to classic Disgaea humor, which is great.

The sprites are about as detailed as they were in D4, no huge improvement there. The 3D environments look better though, and the UI is prettier as well.

Yes, you can ride monsters, as shown in one of the many youtube videos of the game that have been around for months already.
