Pokerus + Horde encounters is the fastest way to EV train if you want to max out a stat or two. Super Training is for when you want very precise EV spreads (like 64 in one stat and 188 in another etc). Even if I want something like 132, 126, 252 though, I usually just use supertraining for, say, the 126 stat, then I max out the 252 stat with pokerus + horde encounters and then I do the same to fill out the remaining stat. So pokerus is certainly still very relevant for hardcore EV-trainers.
Actually getting pokerus is probably not a big deal anymore because most people who want it already have it though, more or less.
"Hmmm, I think we have plenty
of Charmanders, Froakies and
Fennekins to spare. So we
can give you some of those."
"You intend to just give them away?
That's disgusting. You have to make
it the reward of a hopeless struggle
or something. I mean... what would
the world look like if everyone just
helped each other out for free?"
"...it would be a much happier
place, free from pointless conflicts?"
"Exactly. Absolutely disgusting."
"How about you make your own 'gyms' then.
Everyone picks a 'theme' and three pokemons
that fit that theme. If NCG or anyone else can
beat a gym, there will be a reward."
"Seems like a lot of trouble just to
trade some starters... but I kinda
like the idea though. It does sound
like fun. I'll go inform the others."
