The dude was a survivor. He knew in a fight they weren't coming out alive so he did the only thing he could. He was outplayed and he knew trying to bargain was his only shot.

There was a good writing point there that could have been made with the rape thing tying in to Shane almost being raped.

Most likely. I don't see how anyone could believe it's Beth. It literally says in the trailer that she's still there meaning that it won't be a flashback. I think Carol might have been taken. It's highly unlikely given that she is basically Rambo, but I just don't think it's her. Morgan is definitely the most likely or it's one of the people who took Beth.

Also Gareth is retarded. Dumbest villain I've seen in a while. Yes, let's go in there just because it looked like they left to go off for a while and have no one waiting outside to check our cover. Daryl has never met Morgan, guys. I am sure he knows of him but not enough to invite him back to camp. Remember, the last time Rick, Carl and Michonne saw Morgan he was nuts.

I'm guessing Daryl and Carol ran into Morgan somehow in connection with Beth or her captors. Morgan mentions he's looking for a guy named Rick, and explains some of their background. Daryl is wary but thinks it might be okay to bring him back, especially if he maybe has information about Beth. Carol stays behind to keep an eye on the Beth-captors.

Morgan was nuts, but he didn't seem nuts in the post-credit scene after episode 5.1, and definitely seemed to be looking for Rick, or at least other people. It is possible for people to come back from losing their minds. He was temporarily insane, but there was nothing to indicate it was permanent.

In the trailers for this season where we've seen Beth, we've seen a woman tell her "in here you're part of a system". What if that system was a process of forced world repopulation? Creep factor times 5000%.
