Stupid Stuff People Say In Parties

Not exactly something stupid they said, but we were fighting Ifrit and the stunner (no, it wasn't me, ya punks!) was struggling and a few quakes went off. After the nails/megaflare part, the third one went off and a WHM put in caps something like: MAYBE YOU COULD STUN??? and then left when we had about 30% of the HP to go. Despite having 2x DRG down for pretty much all of the remaining fight (poor fellas couldn't dodge - one was new and the other was barely moving at all) and only one SCH to heal, the stunner dead at one point too (I just took over stunning duties... my hate was high enough to not be worried about losing it) we still comfortably beat Ifrit with seven men (often down to four or five, really).

WHM weapon dropped. We laughed.

I was going through The Wanderer's Palace at some point last month without any problems until we came upon the Tonberry King. The boss fight revolves the concept that any adds that are killed will add damage to an attack executed by the Tonberry King.

We were trying to kill only a few adds so as not to overwhelm the tank and he became enraged that we weren't killing all of the adds. After he was killed, he complained that he carried us through the dungeon and said that he was going AFK and expecting us to leave. The rest of us sat around and talked about our lives and treated the dungeon like a chatroom; 20 minutes later, the tank came back and said, "you losers are still here?" and then rage quit as he should have in the first place. We got a replacement tank and finished the dungeon without a problem and without any penalty.

These are more "stupid things people DO," but...

Being a tank, I find it so frustrating in 8-person dungeons when the other tank feels the need to try to steal all aggro from me. It's like they're not satisfied with a few mobs, they want ALL of them. Especially when I'm supposed to be main-tanking a boss and they keep stealing the aggro and then running around the battlefield collecting adds and dragging the boss about as well.

Or when the DPSes unleash their full fury on mobs before the tank gets there and then get stroppy when the tank can't keep aggro.

Or when a tank insisted on stunning AND tanking during Ifrit so that I could DPS instead and... well I'm sure you can guess how well that turned out.

This wasn't from FFXIV but, one of my favorite all time would have to be leading a 50+ man charge in World vs World in Guild Wars 2. The commander was yelling "YOLO SAWG NERDS!" at the pugs who were running from the gates as we assaulted.

"Skip the cs[cutscene], you can watch it in your room" As I was doing my first CM run, had told them that, and they still wanted to do a speedrun. Oh, then they decided not to help because you know having 4-5 people do the stuff really makes things go faster. :/ Thank goodness for Andy, Val, and Raine!

People who want to do speedruns should do WP or AK. Let storyline stuff have it's cutscenes. As far as I'm concerned, they should make less of the cutscenes skippable, too. Particularly the ones right before bosses. Or allow you to skip them but don't allow fights to start until everyone has skipped/finished.

Agreed, I can't stand that. When people use DF for storyline content and then whinge about cutscenes I just ask them why they used DF over a PUG if they wanted a speed run, and refuse to enter any fights until the new people have finished.

A guy always screamed "BUTT" today during Ifrit whenever we had to go close him... I loved it.
