    Default Favorite Classical Compositions

    My absolute favorite is:

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (FULL) - YouTube

But another good contestant (which I only got to know 3 days ago):

Beethoven's Tempest Sonata mvt. 3 -- Wilhelm Kempff - YouTube

What about you? What is some of your favorite classical music?

I'm always a sucker for Clair de lune by Debussy.

I am also a huge Chopin fan. Here are a couple of my favorites of his.

    Fantasie Impromptu

    "Raindrop" Prelude

Generally his Nocturnes are my favorite pieces, but I can't think of any specific names, and Youtube was just pulling up videos of his complete Nocturnes. But here is that if you want an hour and a half of piano music.

Gymnopedies No. 1 by Erik Satie

As for something more recent, I've been jamming to the main theme from Eyes Wide Shut on repeat for a few days now.

I'm assuming we're talking about all "classical" music from the 19th century and earlier as well as any modern classical-style pieces, and not just the Classical period.

    Bach, J.S. Partita No. 3 in E, BWV 1006 - YouTube

Sorabji: Fantaisie Espagnole (1919), Performed by John Carey - YouTube

Andres Segovia Capricho Diabolico, Op.85 - YouTube

Danza Mora(Tarrega) by Carlos Ruben Gomez - YouTube

    J.S. Bach - Inventions # 13 - # 15 (BWV 784 - BWV 786) - YouTube

Also seconding Fantasie Impromptu. I love Chopin.
