OOH what's this?

This is a little booklet with codes inside. A free month of Music Unlimited, a Free month of Playstation PLus, and a free $10 credit for PSN! Sorry, no pictures, if I showed you the codes then I have to kill you.

This beautiful baby feels right, from the textured analog sticks to the triggers, it's like a glove. No more shooter handicaps on PS, I can promise you that.

Here are the cables and the included headset. The headset is a little thin in terms of the cable, so dont yank on it.

And here is the beautiful system itself. It is about the same weight and size as the PS3 slim.

Impressions:

The system makes a lot of humming sounds when reading blu-rays. Watched Shawshank redemption on it. Looks the same as it did on PS3. Blu-ray movies aren't recognized by the system until you start them, which is rather disappointing.

The Games and apps are in one long list that you can't sort, that sucks really hard.
In my opinion the old UI was better

The store is now fast enough that you can't really complain about it.

You don't download videos from PSN anymore, you stream them, which to a certain extent is kind of nice except you can't sort them.

You can't sort your download or downloaded games library, which is pretty inexcusable at this point.

Overall, it's nice, but for it to endure a few years, Not only are we going to need the stellar games PS is known for, but also some major UI upgrades.

Games and apps:
Trine 2 can be played in 3d and has recieved a significant graphical update from the original.
Resogun is definitely worth downloading, it falls under the lines of good game and tech demo. Also Pixel art.
Contrast is debatable. Yes, it's free, but it's also really dated looking. For an indie it isn't bad looking, but it looks more like it belongs on PS3
Flower is still good, it looks amazing now except for the fact that they upgraded every texture except for rocks, so the rocks look weird.

Netflix works the same as on PS3, it's a little faster

The controller seems nice.


I'm worried about the analog though. I hear that the rubber isn't too durable. Any status on that? I dont like having peeling sticks. o.o

So far mine are holding together, but it does feel like a slightly different material than what is on the D3 controllers. I can believe that the cover might come off easier if you treat it poorly, as it appears to be attached to the front of the analog stick rather than being a cover like previous controllers.

I think it's a bit early to tell if the controller is durable or not after just a day or two. Maybe in some months.

Yeah, really my only complaint is the inability to sort any digital content. This is a major concern for someone who's got hundreds of digital items spread across the PS3 and PSP and Vita... I know the PS4 will be no different in that regard, but I have GOT to be able to sort them. Maybe the next patch will do something about this.

I sure hope so, at this point it is ridiculous.
