Egg Nog

What flavor IS egg nog anyway? Are you people drinking .... eggs? Or is it just whipped egg whites so more cream-ish?

Eggnog, or egg nog, is a sweetened dairy based beverage traditionally made with milk and/or cream, sugar, and whipped eggs (which gives it a frothy texture).

There's usually spices added, a lot of the time nutmeg and vanilla.

I've never ever had eggnog as a drink before. There's just never really been an opportunity where it was like, "Oh look, eggnog, I should have some." But I did have eggnog ice cream the other day and disliked it. I do like eggs though. And nog sounds like something I would like too.

Reporting back! I had egg nog last night! First I had just regular egg nog and it was delicious! It tasted like a melted milkshake!

Then I had pumpkin spiced egg nog with brandy in it. <3 <3 <3 <3 I'm never turning down alcoholic egg nog again!

Oh yeah, I hate alcohoic eggnog. There, I said it. It ruins perfectly good store bought cheap carton eggnog. Yes, I am being serious.

Agreed, but that pretty much goes for alcoholic anything, in my mind.

All you need to do to store bought carton eggnog is get a microplane grater and shave a little bit of nutmeg on top when you pour your cup. Delicious stuff. Rich as heck though, so stick to relatively small glasses.

I tried chocolate eggnog a few weeks ago. Did not like.

Never tried it, but I cannot imagine it tasting good.

Guys, normally I wouldn't support McDonalds in any way shape or form because the food makes me sick, but they have an Egg Nog Shake that is actually pretty delicious. For serious.

I haven't had any eggnog this year I bought a carton full and it was entirely gone when I went to have some a short while later!
