And it's hella interesting & plausible, but I'm choosing not to go that route, though seeing how all of the points made in the original post (at the actual website of this) -do- fall in rather easily with the story (I replayed it as well, keeping in mind the Squall's Dead theory).

I mean, like said before, it'd be a major disappointment if that were the case.
