My FFIV: Complete is stuck and lost in a unknown world and needs to be saved!

I bought FFIV: Complete on PSN a couple months back, but it has never been able to load. It says my PSP needs an update, and that's fine and all but the thing is it's hacked. There doesn't seem to be much I can do, or at least that I know how to do. It won't even upate. Anyone ever had this issue, and if so is there still a way to play bought games form PSN, or update the system to be play them? Or is my 20 bucks lost along with FFIV?

That was what I was afraid of, but figured it couldn't hurt asking to make sure there wasn't some way around it.

Ok next question then. If I was to purchase a PS Vita, would this game be able to play on it or is it just for the PSP? Vita costs way more than I thought it would for a little handheld.
