Why not? More people have smartphones than PSPs or DSes. More people bring them with them whereever they go too.

just do not get it xD i never understand cell phones. why are they even called phones anymore? it is like you can do everything on them and 60% of the world does at the worst times making it super annoying.

THey're called cell because they still use a cellular network, and they're called phone because it's easier and faster to say than "communication device".

Well, the sprite style isn't exactly the smartphones' fault. Personally, I mostly play on my GBA emulator on my smartphone.

Do I wish I had physical keys to control the games? Yeah, but sometimes you have to compromise.

Anyway, I also think the ios versions of FFV and VI (saw a screenshot on Kotaku) look terrible.

As for the PSP version of FFI? Great all around! I also really loved the same type of polished treatment FFIV got on the PSP.

No thought. You are right. I'm really dreading FFVI remake now. FF1 PSP is very nice compared to other remakes they have worked on. We need to send someone from eoff to work in the FF department at Square. I nominate Dr Unne. Pssst please help them on VI before they finish this phone remake!

I've always liked the PSP sprites for the older Final Fantasy remakes. They look really nice, detailed, and polished up yet still exude that retro classic RPG aura.
