It's not a problem, we just want everyone to get along with rainbows and cake and such. If that means y'all coming round these parts more often, and us reaching out a bit where we can such as utilising the facebook page or something, things will be okay.

As mentioned previously, I thought the FFXIV nominations were a joke, just because I hadn't heard of anyone! It's pretty cool that people nominated members of the wider community for awards, but I personally think the Ciddies are a time to reflect on forum activity.
I don't think it would be very fun to join a FaceBook group or try post in forums dedicated to a game that you can't afford to play - and it's somewhat condescending to suggest it. The forums offer a wider scope of inclusive activity, and I don't think FFXIV members would be treated any differently from other new members. We'll see what the votes bring, but maybe next time there should simply be a separate category of award to recognize the contributions of MMO members to our community. No one has to join the forums, or play FFXIV on our server - but it's nice that people can take different paths to benefit and make friends via EoFF, isn't it?

Actually, yeah they do. The two ways to join Fat Chocobos is 1) party with BoB and/or Smit and get an invite or 2) you have to make an account at EoFF. Those are pretty much the only requirements for joining. If you haven't partied with smit or BoB then you have to make an account here. Moreover, there are high chances if you joined via #1, BoB will probably pressure you to make an account here. So saying someone doesn't have to join the forum is actually a gross inaccuracy.
My comments regarding posting more in a forum dedicated to a game or other avenues was more towards the greater integration of both communities. Just like there is a push on the otherside for some to be more active here. And mostly those that did get nominated were the more active on EoFF as well. As for affordability, putting issues of subscription based MMORPG aside, you can buy the game (that comes with your first 30 days of sub) and another 30 days sub for the same price as any retail PS3 or PC game currently on the market. Moreover, with the recent sales due to Black Friday, the game was at some locations 10$! So if you are currently playing any "current" (PS3/Xbox 360/PC) games and paying full retail price for it, you can afford to play this game. So while I can understand people having a hard time affording the game (heck, money is tight for me right now), it is no more exclusive as those who can play FFXIII, FFXIII-2, or Lightning Returns.
Yeah, I pretty much force 90% of the people to join EoFF these days. There were exceptions in the past, but those are pretty much gone. I even get people who have partied with us to create accounts these days. The only exceptions I can think up right now are partners/children of other LS members.

Gotta rule with an iron fist if wanna remain top dog. Take over that FinalFantasyForums.net place, and force it's old members to come here too. Then attack the how I met you mother message board. Some times members don't know they wanna join, so you have to force their hand to open their eyes, you see?
Who's harassing? Haven't had any complaints outside of perhaps Ariya, but Ari and I brokered a deal and he bloody owed me.
Suggesting we stop getting people to register at EoFF is the weirdest thing I have ever heard anyone suggest to me when it comes to EoFF.
