FFVII looks like a turd today, but it was the best turd we could push out in 1997.

I personally wouldn't go that far, inmy opinion it still looks pretty awesome - there are still parts of it I find myself inpressed with; it's like when you watch an old animated movie - you know that the animation process has evolved, but you have an inexplicable admiration for the design in this movie.
