Square Enix revealed today that there will be a special collector's edition available for the upcoming release of Lightning Returns: FINAL FANTASY XIII. The boxed set will only be available exclusively through Square Enix's own online store.
The box features most of the pretty conventional collector's edition contents such as some exclusive box art, DLC and an 80-page hardcover artbook that touts some exclusive, never revealed before, artwork.
The artbook features:
A foreward by series art director Isamu Kamikokuryo
An introspective look at the world's and architecture of Nova Chrysalia
Tetsuya Nomura's original artwork and sketches of the characters
A "nostalgia section" that showcases crossover costumes, Chocobos and Moogles.
The Pièce de résistance of this collector's edition is a silver embossed pocket watch featuring the Lightning Returns ensignia and a DLC code for the Aerith Gainsborough's "Midgar Flower Girl" costume, which was previously only available as an exclusive bonus in Japan.
This collector's edition has only been confirmed for release in North America right now, on 11th February 2014 and will set you back $89.99 plus shipping.
