    Default I like trains

Let's talk about Timber and trains.

I love Timber, it's one of my all time favorite towns in Final Fantasy VIII. I like the trains, I like the bit where you're sneaking past sentries on trains and disconnecting/reconnecting trains on a train track, and the model trains, fighting in a train, and Timber TV and the newspaper. I just really like Timber (Rinoa's hot).

I don't like trains with undead President doubles.

It's a cautionary tale because he french fried when he should have pizza'd. If you french fry when you should have pizza'd you're gonna have a bad time.

That was one tough train, though. I don't know many trains that could hold together after so many summons and hellfire.

I don't care what he did. He was one ghastly man.

Timber is one of my favorite locations in the entire game. I always forget about it until I go there the first time, but there's just so many cool random things there aside from the trains. Timber Maniacs, the forest foxes house with the kids that try to charge you money to look out the window, the drunk guy who has given up on life and refuses to move from the door. Good stuff.

I also frequently get Timber's song stuck in my head.

You know, I like Timber quite a bit as well. I love the idea of sneaking around in a secret operation to take out a government official. That was some good stuff and a really unique quest.

Also, Zone and Watts are awesome. They are another reason why Timber is so great. I like the concept of every citizen in a town being a member of some sort of resistance faction as well (which I'm pretty sure was something Rinoa said in Timber).

Timber is the best town in FF8, unless you count Balamb. Still, I'd have to say that the towns are lacking when compared to 9 or even 7.
