Fair enough, that happens quite often at my work place. We're supposed to give four weeks notice but most don't bother, I know I won't when the time comes to switch jobs.
"When can you start Mr. DX?"
"Uh, tomorrow. Heck, right now if you like, just lemme call my now ex-employer."
Good luck in the future though with a new job, a fresh start is definitely what's needed.

My office is opened only during Christmas to spread joy and love to the world especially little children who wet their bed at night.
