Thread: What are some beautiful songs that make you stop what you're doing?

Default What are some beautiful songs that make you stop what you're doing?

I don;t know about you guys, but when I play music on my PC I'm usually doing something else in the meantime like playing a game or writing inane messages on forums (<_<), but occasionally one song in every thousand comes along and makes me just sit back and enjoy it.

A couple of things, I'm sure we've all heard the works of Beethoven and all that so try and avoid the obvious, what else have you got?

The first thign i have is the most recent song I discovered that made me kick back and enjoy it, by a lady called Erutan. The album this song is from is called A Bard's Tale and she puts lyrics to famous video game soundtracks, which is really cool. My favourite is 'Radical Dreamers' from Chrono Cross:

Next is Ciel Errant by Alcest, I know we have a couple of fans here.

Glosoli by Sigur Ros. This is the one of the few songs that has reduced me to tears, it's incredible.

Finally, this sis simply called 'Scene 51' from the movie Casshern, I really hope there's someone else here who has seen this because it is by far my favourite movie ever with an absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack.

    Erutan? KateTheGreat19!?

I chucking -love- her!! I was talking about her a few months ago in chat... She's very good at what she does!

I have many songs that make me stop and listen.. Too many to list, but they all mean something to me.

I think what stands out to me most right now is this:

I actually have that as my ringtone starting from 00:29 - when the main melody starts. It's an amazing track. I love it to bits and pieces... And yes, I let my phone ring until it goes to voicemail just so I can hear it for as long as possible.

    I'm usre there'smorebut i'll postem later./

I can't remember what the name of the first Ólafur Arnalds song was that kc showed me, but I think this was it, and it definitely made me stop what I was doing to listen.

Additionally, both this song and the video are completely mesmerizing.

Usually, FF music does it for me; like, nearly all of Uematsu's stuff, but I'll list only a few:

    Fragments of Memories (Orchestra Version)

    Suteki Da Ne (Piano Version)

I love the way it was arranged, with the eighth notes against the quarter-note triplets. :X

    FFI-III Medley 2010

I just love everything about it.

    Also, (not FF music)

The Kikyo response directly mandates that I post this

Inuyasha produced nothing but amazing music but the theme of Inuyasha and Kagome's love is by far the pinnacle of its greatness.

And on that note....we have the best ending of Inuyasha here
