Which "this" body? Sephiroth can control multiple bodies. The "new" body is a JENOVA shapeshifter body he controls. The "original body" he was born with is regenerating inside of the crater and summons Meteor. Once he does not need the other bodies, he uses his original body with is in ametamorphosis state, transforms into Rebirth Sephiroth, which is a cocoon of which Safer Sephiroth breaks out on the upper part and Safer Sephiroth, his One-Winged Angel form without legs, exactly like his body had no legs before transforming as well, but now with seven wings fights the heroes.
