I love Maechen. He's arguably the most lovable NPC in both X and X-2. I genuinely listened to all of his stories because of the hilarity of the reactions of all the characters. He's like the grandad I never had. You could just make popcorn and listen to his endless stories.
My favourite story? I'd have to remember them all again, but the one about Trema was quite good.
I liked the one about Trema too. It's basically a story of Spira transitioning after X up until X-2. I always listen to it at the start of the game.
Maechen should get the Gilgamesh treatment but instead of fighting in every universe he just goes from game to game expositioning.
Every FF game NEEDS that voice in it is what I'm saying.

Every time you think he's done talking, he keeps going. The screen changes angle. The girls move sitting and standing positions. The sun rises and sets 50,000 times. Alright, maybe there's some exaggeration in that.
He's a well traveled man. You can't argue with that!
Age Spoiler/X-2Well he is over a thousand years old lol
I found him pretty interesting the first time I played the game but soon got bored of him on my 3rd run through, I just thank god I don't HAVE to talk to him, I think I would die of old age if I did.
