Ignore is probably the wrong word to use. Separate itself from how X-2 played is perhaps more appropriate.

Jack: How do you know?
Will: It's more of a feeling really.
Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?
Will: No.
If Demolition Man were remade today
Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: NO!
Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
Spartan: But Huxley.
Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
I like to think Tidus' parents actually sucked enough to not give him a name, and that's really why no one calls him by name. That or the line "You eatin' right, boy?" is actually a hint that his name is actually just "boy." This way I don't ever have to worry about the pronunciation.
I cannot wait for this game. The fan reaction is going to be amazing.
Is X-3 really happening? I have not heard anything about this.
I'm not a big X fan, but I think Spira is an awesome world and both games have great gameplay.
Color me excited. I think an open-world RPG in which you can choose a race (Human, Al Bhed, Ronso, Guado, Hypello), a class (Fighter, Thief, Monk, White, Black Mage etc.) a la Elder Scrlls would be awesome. Add some New Vegas-esque political intrigue and my money would be yours.
It's never explicitly stated. Signs point to the fact they are another ethnicity of human and Yevonites are just that racist, but the possibility of them simply being a related humanoid is still there.
Regardless, "Spiran" and "Al Bhed" are acceptable substitutes to the term as the cultural and physiological differences are different enough to warrant distinction for the sake of lore.
