It's All Zack's Fault
So since Zack beat up the Goddess of the Planet, can we blame him for how Sephiroth and Hojo nearly destroyed the Planet? Presumably Minerva might have done something about Meteor or Omega had Zack not destroyed her or knocked her unconscious or whatever else.
That's honestly a good question.
The goddess seems to rule the life stream, so maybe her power is the same as holy.
Or perhaps she is a complete Cetra

Minerva is more canon than ruby and emerald.
No, she is not. Ruby and Emerald broke out of the Crater, the International version was also released in Japan, and Genesis saw the Goddess. Minerva has exactly the same level of canonicity.
