    Default British to USD Conversion

Can someone help me understand some of the British coins?

I currently have a 2 pence coin, a 2 pound coin and three 1 pound coins. How much do I have?

I stumbled upon these coins in my penny jar. Every year I count how many US pennies I collect from the change I get from actual purchases; I'm not allowed to get pennies from somewhere on purpose, from Jan 1 -Dec 31 (Sidenote: I collected 716 )

EDIT: Probably should change the title to Understanding British coins)

No time for "Dilly-Dallying" or "Shilly-Shallying."

£2 coins are quite cool. If you have one of the earlier ones (they're a relatively new coin) you can pop out the silver middle and have a cool ring!

I'm biased but I do love our coins.

Every time I show a foreigner this heptagonal bad boy it absolutely blows their mind. Some love it, some hate it, but if nothing else it's pretty god damn unique.

50p is my favorite coin, but I didn't see that design when I was there (06)

That coin certainly looks interesting. I sadly know very little abour British currency.

I am Canadian so we have the loonie and the toonie.

I think the toonie is really pretty.

Unsurprisingly, I like the WWF one! I miss NZ money. US money is useless, I always open my wallet and think I have ~*loads of money*~ and then it ends up I have like...five dollars, because all the money looks the same.

My wallet is still bursting with British money that I acquired from my journey earlier this year, and I have yet to empty it out (and probably won't for some time because eh). I do like the 50p coin! I also like the pound coins.

I have all but two of the Olympic 50ps! I'll take a picture and share after work (they are in my tip box)

Also there is a new 2013 50p coin

Edit: I lied. I seem to only have 24 after I checked my box :/

Wait, and the coin would still have it's value (the silver middle that is)

As an American I find this entire thread frightening and confusing.
