What are some skills you used to have that you no longer do?
In my early teens I used to be able to play guitar, a decent amount of drums, and understand a decent amount of Spanish. All of that is gone now!
Singing and the ability to perform cartwheels.
I used to be very flexible, and now all of my muscles hurt constantly and I'm as stiff as a board.
Math. I took calculus as a blow off class. Now it's like, "hey coworker what's 13 times 3?"
I used to have social skills, but who the smurf has time to keep up with that nonsense?
I've never really been good at anything. That isn't a pity-party answer, I just don't have any talents.
Signature by rubah. I think.
I used to play piano, but I couldn't even tell you where Middle C is, much less read music. Same with playing the clarinet.
I also used to be able to do splits and back bends and things, but fuhggetaboutit nowadays.
And then ...yeah thats it.
Oh, and headstands. I used to be able to do headstands, handstands, and walk on my hands. No go now. I'm probably also a terrible ballroom dancer now.
This thread has upset me in confronting my deteriorated hobbies and talents.
I feel like I'm losing my Spanish, slowly but surely..
But. Whatevs...
Lol my brother can -still- walk on his hands.. Not as well as he used to, but he can. And he's almost40
I can't really think of any skills I've lost, honestly. The few things I'm good at, I practice enough to not lose them. I have stagnated on guitar though. It's been a while since I've felt like I've improved on there. I've also finally forgotten all of the dance sequences from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers when I performed in that not too long ago. That's pretty sad.
I used to know pretty much every line to Napoleon Dynamite. The real skill would be mastering Rex Kwan Do or that dance at the end.
Something I did when I was younger that I don't do now is watch the same movie over and over again.
