From a competitive perspective, I just recently learnt the hard way that I've seriously underestimated Omastar. I placed third in a pokemon x/y tournament that I went to, and got swept by a Shellsmash Omastar with White Herb in the loser finals. Thanks to White Herb preventing the defense drops, none of my revenge killers could quite get through its huge 125 base defense and +2 Surf/Ice Beam would OHKO my remaining team. That creepy look isn't just for show. The thing is scary for real.

I've found Sandslash to be quite underrated, given the right moves it's one of the quickest ground/rock types out there and has a bit of a punch to boot.
