I think the summons are the only thing in the game that look all right.

My earlier reaction stands: Many of the elements look good individually, but they fail to mesh well and the character sprites look horrible. They have done a pretty good job upgrading the enemy/esper art though.

Still in agreement. The Opera battle (above the rafters) almost looks like it was designed with the character sprites in mind and so it almost works except that I still hate the character sprites.

By any chance do you know if they censored the beating up Celes scene like they did for the GBA?

Shoot, I don't remember for sure but I think they did. So far everything has pretty much been a port of the GBA version. The script is definitely the GBA version.
