Honestly, so far I'm actually enjoying it. The graphics aren't that bad, especially with everything moving in-game. Granted I've only reached the first save point after entering the mine (I did this over my coffee break at work...).
(SPOILER)
Not surprisingly, the intro with the Magitek armors walking towards town looks cool:

One of the things I love about FFVI is the customization you can do with the backgrounds and borders of the menu and dialog screens. Unfortunately this is not present. The "Window Pattern" is really just six different colors:

Jus' chillin' with my homies:

The environmental animation, including the smoke from the chmineys and the belts running on gears, is really smooth (not that a screen shot shows that...):

In battle with The Wolf of Narshe. The battle controls are pretty smooth. You can scroll up and down each person's list of commands to select what you need. You can also tap on an enemy first and it will execute (or open the sub-menu for) the first available character's first command. I was hoping the "Auto" feature of FFIV would be included but it doesn't look like it.

I like how they've overhauled the bestiary home screen:

I'll grab some more screenshots when I play some more this evening.
