Default Gameplay Demo - Shadow of Mordor, or Assassin's Creed V: Middle Earth

WARNING: If Legolas dwarf-hopping and dual-wielding pisses you off, you might want to stay far away from this video. I just stumbled on it yesterday and although it looks very derivative of Assassin's Creed and the Batman Arkham games, I was impressed on a few fronts:

Overall it just looks fun and the real time animation/lighting is pretty sexy. The procedurally generated elements of the story sounds nice and I like the Mafia tree with the relationships between the Orc commanders.

Can't say if I'm gonna pre-order it tomorrow but I will keep an eye on it.

Looks interesting enough. I got a hard on for Tolkien lore so if it's half decent as a game I'll probably get it and enjoy it

Not bad and I like the idea of personalized enemies.

Saw this game on Polygon.com and am intrigued to hell. Couldn't really get into the Assassin's Creed games, but this one has a lot of my interest, and hopefully it's at least half as good as they're aiming for it to be

I was thinking of making a thread about this with a very similar title!

It has really intrigued me. I think it's a really interesting take on Middle-Earth in general, an interesting area to explore and an interesting time period. WRAITH MODE sounds a bit lame but other than that, yeah, I like the sound of it.

While I certainly appreciate any game that further explores the Tolkien mythos, I'm not sold on the gameplay.

I definitely might Redbox it if it does well enough.

As neat as the idea sounds, I think the game is making a big assumption if it thinks there are enemies who will survive encounters with me.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

Looks fun. I love me some AC and some Tolkien and the thought of wandering Middle Earth assassinating orcs may be too good to pass up.

This too. Nice to see more than just a mass of orcs as "an enemy" instead of individual enemies.

Yeah, that's a really nice take on the genre. If you look at the movies, the more unique orcs like Lurtz and Gothmog were actually really enjoyable and memorable.

This looks interesting, I hope they do some form of playable demo version to try though because the Wraith mode, which appears to be similar to "Eagle Vision" in Assassins Creed but with more detail and some optional extras could be insanely broken and make it all too easy, or it could be something that's so vital you can't complete the game without using it. Both would suck in my opinion.

I really like the look of ordering different types of actions via Wraith control. I'm very interested to see how that plays out, and I think it's cool as hell that you can assist in an ordered assassination attempt. Argh, I'm so hyped just from watching the video!

    100 TIMES.

This. Do we know just how far throughout Middle-earth Talion will be travelling? Clearly it will be heavily centred around Mordor and Gondor, but it'd be nice if there was some excuse for him to travel abroad.
