I wish you all the luck in the world at this. I really don't think I could complete just the one Final Fantasy in 7 days so I'm interested to see how this turns out.
Do you plan to sleep at all during this challenge?
most of them can be cleared within one work-day actually, if you know what to do. With 16 hours to spend each day, it should be very doable if he goes into it with a proper game plan.

I don't think I've attempted a Final Fantasy without doing the side quests so that's probably why it takes me longer! You sound like you have a plan in place though so best of luck!
If you have a spare minute or two you should let us know how you're getting on.

considering the record for ff7 is about 7 hours, you'll definitely need to play for more than 6 hours to clear it in one day

I was gonna suggest going for the normal difficulty. It's probably for the best I reckon.
