I actually just volunteered for trauma counseling which provides a certain amount of training and I've been looking for more opportunities. I hope to hear back from them soon.

As for being able to become a counselor, I need a certain amount of schooling that I can't afford, a certain amount of experience, and then I need to take a course and a test, which I also can't afford, before I can be licensed. At least that's what I need for SC. Not sure how it works elsewhere.
