I realized your second point probably a few weeks ago... and then a couple of weeks later realized that I like it anyway. And then realized today that it's more of a time waste than pretty much any other hobby I can think of. It's all ego, no productivity. So my feelings on it are currently mixed.

I also realize more and more just how primitive of a society we really are.
