You know actually doing that stupid laugh can be pretty refreshing. I watched that clip of Big Bang Theory dubbed with that laugh instead of the laugh track and I think it improved the show by a factor of 2. But seriously I find Tidus to be a wonderful character because he suggests some of the simple things in life that can be very positive: screaming at the top of my lungs in a Buddhist temple is a great way to feel the calm wash over you.

I have my gripes (really serious ones) with X, but the laughing scene never bothered me. It was supposed to be awkward and weird and it was.

I thought it was funny. Especially if you cut to Reno reacting to what his face from Advent Children with a bunch of people running in the background.
