Some of my favorite gaming experiences came from the SNES. All the countless hours playing the fly swatter game in Mario Paint, sucking at Mario World, beating my first video game with Donkey Kong Country. Playing Lethal Enforcers with friends was always great. Mickey's Magical Quest was another favorite of mine.

The SNES was my favorite console ever. I had a lot of fun with it, and I want to second mentioning Mario Paint. Well, I liked to make up music.

I always tried to make music and failed at it. I enjoy looking up what other people have done on Mario Paint's music though. I also enjoyed just chilling on the startup screen, clicking the letters and seeing what they would do.

I think overall the SNES had the best game library of any console. PlayStation and PS2 give it a serious run for the money but I have more favorites from the SNES than any other console, I think.

    (Opinions of course)

I recently got my SNES out of the attic to play, I'm still amazed by the quality of some of the games from that era.

To this day Secret of Mana is in my top 3 games of all time (second behind FFVII to be precise), in fact if I were to put together a comprehensive list of my favourite games of all time SNES games would probably count for for four or five of my top ten.

    Oh god the nostalgia.

This is seriously a contender for my favorite console with PS2. PS2 may have a my favorite games, but the volume of quality on the SNES is staggering. Super Mario World, not only my earliest video game memory, but my very oldest memory ever.

The days of playing Link to the Past with my dad, my introduction to RPG's with Final Fantasy IV when my brother brought it down on one of his visits, and my first ever Movie based video game with Hook.

Renting Breath of Fire 2 and Chrono Trigger, beating the entirety of Super Mario RPG in one sitting (Except the last boss, I'd gotten to a point I couldn't make out words on the screen by the time I'd finally went to bed. ).

    Those were some good years.

    :monster:

Favourite console ever, and to be honest if I listed my favourite games ever in order I'm pretty sure at least the first five would be SNES/Super Famicom games. The only thing that could possibly give the SNES games in top position a run for their money is NetHack. Several other consoles, including the NES, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2, have strong libraries in their own rights, but the library on the SNES is pretty much impossible to beat.

Maybe I was too young to appreciate it, or I have just grown accustomed to the advancement we have made in games in the last 2 decades. I just don't have the same nostalgia value that the NES, SNES and N64 have to offer. Using Pokemon as an example, Pokemon Red and blue are garbage compared to X and Y. The two games are basically indistinguishable. For me I think Nostalgia hits more towards the Gamecube and GBA era. That's when I started really playing games on my own, and not with 3 brothers and 2 controllers.

I think the true testament to the SNES is how well its games have aged. You could look back at a lot of titles over the last 3 generations and find lauded games that actually look and run like crap. The SNES library has truly stood the test of time in a way that's more than just hyperbole.

    >>> Chrono Trigger, Mystic Quest, FF 4,5,6, Yoshi Island, DKC, Kirby Super Star, Earthworm Jim 2, Megaman X, Mega Man 7, Gradius 3, etc..

    Nothing can beat the SNES..

Yup, still my favourite console too. Obviously there's a huge stench of nostalgia attached to it but you can't argue with the level of quality titles the system produced.

Pretty much any genre of game you were interested there was plenty to keep you busy. I might post my SNES collection later on tonight if I can be bothered.

SNES is great and I still play a ton of SNES games regularly. I've played through Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Final Fantasy V, and Lufia all within the last year, but of course games like Chrono Trigger, FFIV and VI, Earthbound, and Super Mario RPG are way up there in my favorites.

SNES was my glory days. Some of the best games ever were on that console. FFIV-VI, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, DKC2, Secret of Mana, Star Fox, Super Mario RPG, A Link to the Past. Wait these were all made by Nintendo or Square (or both)...

Square and Nintendo are the two best gaming developers of all time and when they were partners during the SNES era some great things happened.
