Please note that you should have the forearm positioned behind the upper arm, not in front like it appears in your drawing.

His lower arm part must come before the upper part. How much depends on the angle but the inner elbow always shows at least a bit that the lower part is not positioned behind the upper part. The problem in the picture might be the length of the arm or at least that it may seem too long.
